Our Vision:

A Resilient, Healthy, Sustainable Virginia

We work to enhance Virginia’s resilience to the impacts of climate variability and climate change.

Extreme heat, flooding, and increased risk of vector-borne disease pose threat to the integrity of Virginia’s infrastructure, economy, culture, and to the health of all Virginians. The Virginia Climate Center (VCC) works with Virginia’s communities to meet these challenges and prevent future harm. VCC’s research priorities include assessing Virginia’s vulnerabilities to a changing climate and identifying “hot spots” in which people are particularly at risk. Together with our partners, we aim to create a Commonwealth in which Virginians are prepared and can thrive.
